Feature
Table booking, that never promises a table that isn't there.
The guest picks a day, a party size and a time on your own page, and the page shows only the times when there really is a table for them. You receive them from the evening's list, from a timeline table by table or from a plan of the room — and phone bookings and walk-ins are entered in the same place.
How it works
Three steps
- 01
Set the evening up
Services with opening hours and how long a table is taken, your tables in each room, and which tables can be pushed together. Closed days and Christmas Eve you set once.
- 02
The guest books on your page
Day, party size and time on your own shop page. The confirmation arrives by email with a link where the guest can move or cancel the table themselves.
- 03
You receive them
The evening's list with allergies and notes beside the name, the tables on a timeline and on the plan. Guests who have arrived, been seated or not turned up are marked with one tap.

What does Saturday look like?
A table for two can have every time of the evening. There is nothing to explain, and the answer says so too.
What you see under Why is it full?
7 of 7 times can be booked online for 2 people.
No time is blocked.

What to know
- The system picks the table
- The smallest table that fits — and where there are tables of the same size in several rooms, one in the room you use first. Two tables are pushed together when the party is too big for one. Online, a guest never gets a time there is no table for. For you it is a warning you can tap past: it is your restaurant.
- A waiting list that writes by itself
- If the time is taken, the guest can put their name on the waiting list for the evening. When a table comes free, the next person in the queue whom the table fits gets an email with a link to book it. The table is not held — the first to book gets it — but for 30 minutes nobody else on the waiting list is written to about the same table.
- A reminder, and «are you still coming?»
- The guest gets a reminder before the table, and you can ask guests to confirm one, two or three days before. Nobody loses their table over it; you simply see who has answered.
- A guest book with allergies
- Every guest gets a profile with visits, no-shows, allergies and your own notes, and «4th visit» stands beside the name on the evening's list. The guest book is for the people who receive the guests — the bookkeeper sees the report, not the allergies.
- A plan of the room
- Draw where the tables stand, and see the evening on the plan: which tables are free now, which get guests within the hour, and who sits where. The plan can be drawn with the mouse, with a finger or with the keyboard.
- Your own questions
- Ask what you need to know when the guest books: which menu, what is being celebrated, whether a pram is coming. The answer is on the booking, with the question as it was asked.
- Move from your old system
- Bring the bookings in from resOS, DinnerBooking or easyTable. The guests go into the guest book, nobody gets an email about it, and if you run the file again, nothing is added on top.
- A report, and your own systems
- Guests per evening, weekdays, where the bookings come from, and how many stayed away. Every new booking, change and cancellation can be passed on to your own system or to Zapier.
- A deposit, or a no-show fee
- A service can take a deposit when the guest books, or keep a card that is only charged if the guest does not come — per person or per booking, and only from a party size if you like. You choose how late a guest may cancel for free, and the guest sees the rule before they pay. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account; Kuvert takes none of it.
- Large parties ask instead of calling
- If the party is larger than you take online, the guest can send a request with the day, the time they would like and the number of guests. You accept with a time and tables or decline with a few words, and the guest gets the answer by email. A request holds no table and only counts towards the plan once you have said yes.
- A payment link for the phone booking
- If the guest calls for an evening with a deposit or a fee, you send a payment link by email instead of asking for the card number. The table is held while the guest pays, and if they do not pay in time it is released and you are told.
- Guests say how it was
- After the visit the guest can give a rating with one tap in the email and write about the food, the service, the atmosphere and the price. You hear about a bad visit the same day, and you can reply to the guest if they have said yes to that. Your link to reviews is shown to everyone who answers — not only to those who were happy.
- A message on the phone — about what matters
- Each member of staff chooses what they want to be told about, by email or as a push notification on the phone: new bookings, cancellations and requests from large parties — and only the large parties or the late cancellations, if those are what matter. Nobody is told about what they did themselves.
- The day's overview in the morning
- On days with bookings, an email arrives in the morning at the time each member of staff chooses: how many are coming for each service and each hour, and what has to be in place before the door opens.
- The evening's list works without internet
- If the connection drops in the middle of service, the dashboard still opens with the latest copy of the evening's list and says when it is from. It can be read and printed, and as soon as the internet is back, it fetches itself again.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What does table booking cost?
It is free for up to 25 bookings a month. Basic costs 149.00 kr. for up to 350, Plus 299.00 kr. for up to 750, and Unlimited 449.00 kr. a month — all excluding VAT. Everything is in every plan: waiting list, requests from large parties, questions, guest book, guests' ratings, report, plan and webhooks.
What counts as a booking?
Every booking that is not cancelled or declined — including a guest who did not turn up, so it never pays to mark a no-show as a cancellation. A booking counts in the month its evening falls in.
What happens if we get more bookings than the plan holds?
No guest is turned away, and the plan does not change by itself. When the month is 80 % full, the owner gets an email, and again when it is full — the booking page keeps taking bookings, and it is you who presses the button if you want to change plan.
Can we take phone bookings and walk-ins?
Yes. They are entered on the evening's list, and a walk-in is seated straight away. If the system says the time is full, you can book anyway — the rules are a warning for you and a limit for guests online.
Can staff see everything?
Staff see the evening and the guest book and take bookings. A manager can also set up services, closed days and tables. The bookkeeper sees the report but not the guests' phone numbers and allergies, and only the owner can change the plan and the payment card.
Can we take a deposit, or a fee when the guest does not come?
Yes, on the services you choose. If the guest cancels before the deadline, the deposit goes back by itself and a saved card is not charged. If the guest cancels too late or does not come, you keep the deposit, or the fee is charged to the card. If you cancel the table yourselves, the guest always gets the money back. Kuvert takes neither commission nor a handling fee on the money — it goes to your own Stripe account.
Can guests book for a large party?
Yes, when you turn requests on. The guest sends the day, time and number of guests, and you answer from the evening's list — with a time and tables, or with a few words about why it does not work. If there is no answer by the time the evening begins, the request is closed and the guest is told.
Do you ask guests to review us?
Only if you turn it on. Then after the visit the guest gets an email asking how it was, and the answers are yours — on the evening's list, in the guest book and in the report. If you have added a link to your reviews, it is shown to everyone who answers, whatever the rating: Google does not allow only the satisfied guests to be sent on.
What happens if the internet goes down in the middle of service?
The evening's list can still be opened on the phone or computer that last had it open, and it says when it was fetched. It can be read and printed but not changed, so two members of staff do not move the same party in different directions. When the connection is back, the list fetches itself again.
Can we get a message on the phone when a booking comes in?
Yes. Turn push on under Table booking › Settings on the phone or computer that should get the messages, and choose what it should tell you about. The message shows the number of guests, the time and the name — never the guest's phone number or email. On an iPhone, Kuvert first has to be added to the home screen.
