Pricing
One rate. And nothing you haven't chosen.
2 % + VAT of each sale on your page — gift cards, tickets and punch cards all the same. Free tickets and corporate gift cards you issue yourself, and we take no fee for those. No monthly fee on sales, no setup cost, no lock-in and no per-user charge. If you don't sell, you don't pay. Table booking is an add-on with its own price further down.
Included in the price
- Your own branded gift-card site
- Unlimited number of gift cards and products
- MobilePay, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay
- The card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
- Punch cards, campaigns and tickets
- Dashboard for all staff
- Webhooks, API keys and five languages
- Table booking as an add-on — free for up to 25 bookings a month
Payment
The purchase is completed in Stripe Checkout. MobilePay and payment cards are the two methods we send to Stripe; Apple Pay and Google Pay sit on top of the card payment and appear on the devices that support them. Stripe is the payment provider, and the money lands in your own connected Stripe account.
Examples
What it means in kroner
- A gift card for 500 kr.
- The customer pays 505.00 kr. — 500.00 kr. for the card plus a handling fee of 5.00 kr. Kuvert takes 2% + VAT of the 500.00 kr. — 10.00 kr. plus VAT — as a fee on the sale. The VAT is refunded to you as input VAT. The rest lands on your Stripe account, minus Stripe's own transaction fee.
- Three gift cards in one payment
- If someone buys three cards at 500.00 kr. in the same payment, the handling fee is 5.00 kr. per card — 15.00 kr. Each card is its own dispatch: its own code, its own email, its own pass in Wallet and its own redemption at the till. The commission, by contrast, is calculated on the 1,500.00 kr. as a whole.
- A hundred gift cards in December
- If you sell 50,000 kr. in December, Kuvert's share is 1,000.00 kr. plus VAT. There is no tiered model and no bulk discount to negotiate — the price is the same for the first and the thousandth card.
- A month with no sales
- You pay 0 kr. Sales carry no monthly fee, so a quiet January costs you nothing to get through. If you have chosen a paid table booking plan, it continues as agreed.
- A gift card with campaign bonus
- The customer pays 500.00 kr. for the card and receives 600.00 kr. on it. The fee is calculated from the 500.00 kr. the customer paid — not from the bonus you added yourself.

What's left for you
Two take a share of every transaction: Stripe, which handles the payment, and Kuvert. We've worked both in, so you can see what actually lands in your account.
You receive
38.169,60 kr.approx. €5,116
of 40.000,00 kr. — split across 80 cards
- Card value
- 40.000,00 kr.
- Kuvert (12,50 kr. per card, incl. VAT)
- − 1.000,00 kr.
- Stripe (10,38 kr. per card)
- − 830,40 kr.
- To you
- 38.169,60 kr.
Kuvert's fee is shown including VAT; the VAT (2,50 kr. per card) you claim as input VAT, so your actual cost is 20,38 kr. per card. Stripe's fee is charged to your own Stripe account, not by us, and is VAT-exempt; it's calculated on the entire transaction — the card plus the buyer's handling fee of 5,00 kr., which otherwise doesn't affect your payout. Sell nothing, pay nothing — the rate has no monthly fee or minimum.
At 40.000,00 kr. per month in cards averaging 500,00 kr. each, paid with MobilePay, you receive 38.169,60 kr. (approx. €5,116)
The euro figures are approximate and rounded. The krone is pegged to the euro: 7,46 kr. = €1.

If the customer pays with a card in another currency, Stripe adds 2 %. MobilePay costs an additional 35,00 kr. per month, which MobilePay requires from Danish businesses.
No fee
What you issue yourself
The rate above applies to what the customer buys on your page. If you issue the card or ticket yourself from the dashboard, no payment goes through us — so there is no fee to take, and there is no limit to how many you issue.
- Free tickets and the guest list
- Tickets you issue yourself from the dashboard — press, sponsors, staff, a guest who changed their mind. Each has its own QR code and can only be checked in once. No payment goes through us, so there is no fee. If, on the other hand, you sell the seats on your site, it is a sale like any other — see the rate above.
- Punch cards you issue yourself
- A card for ten stamps for the same service — ten coffees, ten classes, ten treatments. If you issue it from the dashboard and take payment over the counter, no payment goes through us, and it costs you nothing, no matter how many you issue. If, on the other hand, you sell the punch card on your own site, it is a sale like any other — see the rate above. The staff stamps at the till, and the balance counts down.
- Corporate gift cards and gifts in bulk
- Issue a whole series at once for a corporate customer, or give a card away as compensation. If you invoice the customer outside Kuvert, we take no fee — the cards work at the till in exactly the same way.
Not in the rate
What sits outside
Four things cost money separately from the rate. We would rather write them here than have you discover them in a statement.
- Handling fee to the buyer
- The handling fee is 5.00 kr. incl. VAT per gift card and per ticket — not per order, and not on tickets under 25.00 kr. — and by default it is added on top of the card amount for the buyer. The whole amount goes to Kuvert, and it is not deducted from the card’s value. Because the payment happens on your own Stripe account, you formally collect it from the buyer and are invoiced for it by us: two entries in the accounts that cancel out. The only thing you actually notice is that Stripe calculates its percentage on the slightly larger amount — 0.08 kr. You decide yourself whether the buyer or the shop pays it — see below — and if you would rather not have the fee on your shop at all, we switch it off.
- Stripe's transaction fee
- Stripe takes its own fee per payment — 1.5% + 2.80 kr. on MobilePay, 1.5% + 1.80 kr. on European cards — and deducts it directly from your Stripe account. It is not included in Kuvert's rate, and Kuvert does not add anything on top. See the calculation above.
- MobilePay's monthly subscription
- MobilePay requires 35.00 kr. per month from Danish businesses that accept MobilePay. It is charged through Stripe. Kuvert's rate has no monthly fee, but this is not ours — and you pay it if you want MobilePay at the till.
- Cash payout of remaining balance
- If the customer chooses to have a remaining balance paid out in cash, the statutory fee ceiling of 50 kr. applies. This is a matter between you and the customer — Kuvert records the transaction but does not charge the fee.

Questions about table booking
What counts as a booking?
One party is one booking, however many people come and whether they booked online, phoned or walked in off the street. A booking counts in the month its evening falls in. A cancelled or declined booking does not count, and neither does a table waiting for payment or a request you have not said yes to. A guest who does not show up counts — so marking a no-show as a cancellation never pays.
What happens when the month is full?
No guest is turned away, the plan does not change by itself, and there is no bill for the bookings above the limit. When the month is 80 % full, the owner gets an email, and again when it is full. The booking page keeps taking bookings, and it is you who decides whether to change plan.
Can we change plan or stop again?
Yes, at any time, and there is no commitment. A more expensive plan applies at once, and the unused part of the month you have paid for is deducted from the price. A cheaper plan or Free applies from the end of the paid month, and a month that has begun is not refunded. The bookings and the guest book stay where they are.
Does Kuvert take anything from a deposit or per guest?
No. Kuvert takes no commission per booking or per guest. A deposit or a no-show fee goes to your own Stripe account, and Kuvert takes neither commission nor a handling fee from it. Stripe takes its own transaction fee on the payment, as on anything else paid by card.
Do we have to give a payment card?
Not for Free, which neither needs a card nor expires. A paid plan is paid in advance one month at a time with a card you save with Stripe, and it appears on the monthly invoice. If the card is declined, we try again three times over a week and write to you each time. If that fails, you move to Free, and the bookings and guests stay where they are.
Are there add-ons or a setup fee?
No. Everything in the list above is in every plan, the Free plan included, and getting started costs nothing. Confirmations, reminders and messages to guests are sent by email.
Can we move from the system we use today?
Yes, and it costs nothing. Under Table booking › Settings you bring the bookings in from a file from resOS, DinnerBooking or easyTable. You see first what will be brought in, the guests go into the guest book, and no guest gets an email. If you run the same file again, nothing is added twice.
Questions
About price and payment
Is there a lock-in period or notice requirement?
No. You can close the account at any time. Gift cards already sold remain your obligation to the customer, so remember to pull a report of outstanding cards before you close.
When do I pay the fee?
With each sale. The fee is deducted as an application fee on the transaction itself, so no bill ever comes from us afterwards, and you do not need to set money aside. Once a month you receive an invoice for what has already been deducted — it is the voucher for your accounts, not something to pay.
Does it cost anything to get started?
No. There is no startup cost, no setup fee and no charge for onboarding.
Do I pay for the number of users?
No. You can create the staff you need with the roles they should have. The rate depends only on what is sold, and a table booking plan only on how many bookings a month holds.
Do tickets and punch cards cost extra?
There is no extra charge to use them. Tickets and punch cards you sell on your site are a sale like a gift card and cost the same rate. Everything you issue yourself from the dashboard — free tickets, punch cards for the till and corporate gift cards — no payment goes through us, and there is therefore no fee, no matter how many you issue.
Can I pass the fees on to the customer?
Yes. In your settings you choose, for each of the two — the commission and the handling fee — whether the shop or the customer pays, and you choose it separately for gift cards and for tickets: many let the guest carry the fee on a ticket, the way other ticketing providers do, and let the gift card cost exactly what it says on it. Choose the customer and the amount is added on top of the price as «Servicegebyr» and «Ekspeditionsgebyr», and the buyer sees both inside the total before paying. Kuvert receives the same either way: both are taken as an application fee on the transaction, and the choice only moves which side of the counter feels them. We invoice you for both in any case — if you choose «the customer pays», you have simply collected them onward. The only thing you actually notice from moving them across is that Stripe calculates its percentage on the slightly larger amount.
Does the customer pay the fee once or per card?
The handling fee is per gift card and per ticket: if someone buys three cards in the same payment there are three fees of 5.00 kr. A ticket under 25.00 kr. carries no handling fee, but the commission is the same rate as on every other sale. Each card is its own dispatch with its own code, its own email and its own redemption. The commission, by contrast, is a percentage of the whole order and is calculated once.
How much does Stripe take?
Stripe takes 1.5% + 2.80 kr. on MobilePay and 1.5% + 1.80 kr. on European payment cards, deducted directly from your Stripe account. MobilePay additionally costs 35.00 kr. per month. The rates are Stripe's own and taken from their Danish price list on 28 July 2026.
What if I refund an order?
The refund is processed back through Stripe from the account the payment landed on, and unredeemed cards on the order are cancelled.
