For a cut, a colour or a treatment, the amounts are small enough that the gift card needs to be easy, and frequent enough that the punch card makes sense. The customer buys the gift card on your own page, and the payment is on your Stripe account straight away. They can buy the punch card in the same place, or you issue it yourself in the salon.

- The customer wants to give a haircut
- They buy on your site and have the card on their phone straightaway. No physical pad to fetch from the salon before closing.
- The treatment was dearer than the card
- You deduct the card's full balance and take the rest as normal payment. The card closes when the balance is zero.
- Ten punches for the regular customer
- Ten haircuts on one punch card, which you issue at the till and take payment for yourself. Each punch is deducted when the customer sits in the chair.

Frequently asked questions
Can we accept gift cards we have already sold on paper?
The old paper cards live their own life. Kuvert only knows the cards issued in the system. You can issue an equivalent card from the dashboard if you want to move a customer over. If the cards are in another system, you can move them all at once with a CSV file.
What does it cost?
It costs 2 % + VAT in service fee and DKK 5.00 in handling fee per gift card and per ticket. By default the buyer pays the handling fee on top of the price. Punch cards you issue yourself are free. No monthly fee, no set-up cost and no lock-in, and Stripe's own transaction fees are settled separately on your Stripe account.
Should each employee have their own access?
It is recommended. The hairdressers get the «staff» role, which redeems and receives customers. A manager can also set up products and prices, the owner controls the money and the payouts, and the bookkeeper gets the accounts and nothing else.
What if the customer cannot find the code?
You can resend the order's card from the dashboard. The balance follows the card, so a new amount is not issued.
