Feature
One line on your own site. The purchase stays with you.
Your customers find you on your own website, not on a gift card page somewhere else. That's why the gift card page can lie on top of yours: one line in the template gives a buy button, and the click opens the purchase in an overlay without sending the guest away.
How it works
Three steps
- 01
Copy the line from the dashboard
Under settings the finished line stands ready to copy, with your own address already in it. It looks like the line below.
- 02
Put it on your site
The line should stand in the template, just before the site ends. If you can edit your site's HTML — or your system has a field for scripts — there's nothing more to it.
- 03
The buyer stays on your site
A button lands in the corner. A click opens the gift card page in an overlay on top of yours, and the guest picks an amount and writes a message without leaving you.

Embed on your site

Openshttps://shop.kuvert.dk/cafe-noir
One line on your own website so the button stands where the customer already is.
What should the line say?
One line, one attribute: which shop it is. The button stands in the corner of your own page, with the text and the colour it comes with.
Details
What to know
- The button is set up without code
- Text, colour and language are attributes on the same line. If you write nothing, the button says «Buy a gift card», is dark and speaks Danish.
- The overlay speaks the same five languages
- If you pick English, Norwegian, Swedish or German, the overlay opens in that language. It’s the same gift card page as otherwise — it’s just sitting in a frame on your site.
- Payment breaks out of the frame, on purpose
- Stripe's payment page must not be shown inside a frame on a foreign domain, and it's a security feature rather than a limitation. If the buyer needs to pay, the whole window is sent to Stripe instead of trying something the browser blocks anyway.
- The overlay closes the way people expect
- Escape closes it. So does a click beside it and the cross in the corner. The site behind is kept still while the overlay is there, so it doesn't scroll away underneath.
- The line can stand in two places
- If the script is put in by mistake in both the template and the home page, it finds itself and skips the second time. You won't get two buttons in the corner.
- The direct link works unchanged
- The overlay is an option, not a requirement. The address to your gift card page is still the one that goes in the newsletter, in your profile text and on a sign by the till.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a developer for this?
One line goes in the template. If you can edit the site's HTML or have a field for scripts in your system, you'll do it yourself — otherwise it's ten minutes' work for whoever looks after the site.
Does it work on our website?
It works everywhere you can put a line in the site's HTML. If you can't do that in your system, you link to your gift card page instead with an ordinary link or a button — the rest of the purchase is the same.
Can we change the text and colour on the button?
Yes. Both are set on the line itself along with the language, so the button can say what you call your gift cards and have your own colour.
Why does the buyer leave the site when they need to pay?
Because Stripe's payment page must not sit in a frame on another domain. We send the whole window to payment instead, and the buyer lands on the receipt afterwards.
Does the script put anything on our visitors?
The script doesn't store anything on your site — it adds a button and a frame. What the gift card page itself puts is in the cookie policy.
